Rule Questions

We update the section below with common rules questions. If you have additional questions you can email us at info@castillogames.com

Question 1: When attacking Nottingham Castle with its guards with Brawn, do you have to attack the full row or can you attack Nottingham Castle as a separate attack?

When attacking Nottingham Castle, it counts as the same row as the guards guarding it, so if you are attacking with Brawn you must defeat both the castle and the guards in one attack. If Nottingham Castle has 6 guards with it, the average Brawn you would need is 54 to defeat the whole row in one attack. This is where the advantage of being able to choose which player goes first in the final round is very helpful, since you can choose someone with at least 24 Wit or Stealth to go first so they can take out Nottingham Castle and perhaps a couple other guards in their first attack.

Question 2: Will you be translating the game into other languages?

Yes! We are excited about the possibility of localizing the game and bringing it to you in other languages. If you are a publisher interested in localizing Rescuing Robin Hood you can reach out to us at info@castillogames.com. If you are a fan interested in specific language you can fill out this form to show your excitement for it and stay in the loop!

Question 3: Have there been any rule updates since the game was last published?
Yes. We have updated the Single-Band solo mode to be easier and made the instructions clearer. Here is the updated text for the mode: You play only 1 player with 1 Merry Band Leader and 1 Band of Villagers deck. Set up the game as if it were a 2-player game. Rather than resetting the scenario at the end of Days 1 and 3, you will have a second day to attempt to rescue the same Villagers. As normal, at the end of Days 1 and 3, discard all villagers in your hand, draw 4 more villagers, and reset your Attributes and Skills. Add all Rescued Villagers to your deck only at the end of Days 2 and 4. Leftover Brawn and Jolliness will carry over from round to round, but will reset to zero at the end of Day 4. During Day 5, double your total Skills and Attributes. You start with 3 attacks rather than 2 to attempt to rescue Robin Hood. This is to account for not having fellow players to help during the final battle."
